We Need To Talk Conversation Cards

Harmful gender stereotypes lead to gender-based violence. That's why We Need To Talk. These conversation cards aim to challenge gender stereotypes and encourage you to reflect on the impact of gender inequality in your life. 

Fifty questions give fifty opportunities to challenge the patriarchy and have conversations that matter. Join the movement for gender equality by questioning traditional gender roles and chatting with your mates.  

How to play:
“We Need To Talk” cards are for everyone, because gender inequality affects us all. You can use them on your own or in groups of 2+.

For solo use:
Sometimes the most important conversations are the ones we have with ourselves. You can use these cards on your own as journaling prompts, as a means of personal reflection, or however else you like.

For group use:
In groups of 2+, the cards can be used to encourage meaningful conversations. To ensure safe and respectful discussions, we suggest following the steps below:

1. Place the cards in the middle of the table. Each person takes a turn selecting a card and sharing their thoughts based on the card’s prompt. Following a clock-wise direction, each player will then have an opportunity to answer the same question.

2. Give people time to share their thoughts, express themselves freely, and respect their contributions (even if you don’t necessarily agree with all opinions).

3. Remember that the cards are not intended to be used to quiz anyone, and there are no right or wrong answers; rather, they should encourage you to introduce and appreciate new ideas or perspectives and connect with one another.
